Family Trees can bear a lot of nuts

Did you know?
One of the Nickisson clan in 1854, at the age of 20, was imprisoned with hard labour for 6 months for house-breaking.

His two offences were stealing one square and sixteen planes (I presume joiners planes, not the flying type) . His Trade at the time was a Joiner
In 1857 he was caught again. This time he was charged with three offences: Stealing in total, twenty-five joiners planes, one saw, one hammer, one square, a timepiece, two brass saucepans and one pair of slippers. His Trade at the time was a Sailor!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was sentenced to four years penal servitude.
He died two years later in prison.

Our first crop of vegetables, not that bad.

September 2009
The variety of vegetables we grew in our first year including Potatoes, Cabbage, Lettuce, Beetroot, Broad Beans, Runner Beans and Peas.
Just look at the size of my courgettes!!!!!!!
(I think thats how you spell it?) Let me know if i'm wrong.
We have never tasted courgettes before and found them really good, cooked or as a salad ingredient, a definite vegetable to grow next year.
(or is it a fruit? Let me know)
Proud of our first year
and we had plenty of willing helpers.

March 2010
The cold weather is holding us up from planting directly into the ground so were having to pot up the seeds. More info soon.
